“exploring experiences through artmaking”
I was given the opportunity to create a website and interest survey with Survival Movements, an art collective that provides space for healing trauma through creating things together. It was a pleasure to use Ceci Norman’s images and words to create a site and survey that felt like a calming, gentle journey through a garden.
The goal was to echo the introspective portion of the work being done with Survival Movements by creating organic, free flowing line art over images - similar to how the participants that attend sessions with Survival Movements create animations based on their own experiences. Keeping a minimalist tone, an even application of color, and a dash of unique typography were key moves for effectively communicating Survival Movement’s distinct mission and practice.
