Logo Design

For this project, I was asked to create a minimalist, artistic logo for Fernland Studios, an environmentalism organization hosting artist residencies, educational retreats, and writing workshops in Keizer, Oregon. Founded by Jessica T. Brown, Fernland Studios is dedicated to creating space for people of color in Oregon to express themselves and build relationships with like-minded individuals.

Jessica requested that we use a fern silhouette in the mark of the logo, so I found the most dynamic option with a frond emerging from the left side and carefully traced the silhouette. I chose a refined sans serif to pair the fern with, and made the fern’s stem connect to the bottom left of the logo.

Together we created a set of different logo variations for Fernland to use in everything from signage, to web, to print. Consistent, and distinguished.
